When (why) will I update the BLOG ?

Yesterday was the first time that I was able to call family since we began 9 days ago. There is little energy at the end of the ride. Although, my recovery is getting shorter. I hope to be "alive" and functioning at the end of a daily ride, soon.

Certainly it is easier to dial a phone number than take out a computer and attempt to find a network, and jump through all the frustrating steps to open a blog, download pics, and attempt to update the www.help3c.com blog.

I am able to view many requests, on my belt phone, asking for updates. I understand and appreciate many want to follow my progress. THANK YOU very much for your generous and kind donations. Missee and I appreciate your contributions to www.help3C.com. Please understand my failure to update the blog is not a sign that your openhearted requests for details on the ride is NOT a sign that we do not appreciate your charitable kindness.

Here is a solution that I hope will help.

Bobby Rone, our “leader” finds the ENERGY and time to update the blog that he created. The following are links to our first week:

Day 1 - The First Big Climb!!!: San Diego, CA to Pine Valley, CA *
Day 2 - Pine Valley to Brawley: A day of contrasts *
Day 3 - Brawley, CA to Blythe, CA: Desert winds *
Day 4 - Blythe, CA to Salome, AZ: The second state *
Day 5 - Salome, AZ to Sun City, AZ: Nostalgia Day *
Day 6 - Sun City, AZ to Apache Junctio, AZ: City ride *
Day 7 - Apache Junction, AZ to Globe, AZ: Headwinds and hills and trucks *

Picture of Bobby Rone, while most of us are sleeping, he is making time and finding energy to update the Crazy Guy on a bike web site/blog for our ride. I hope his infomation will help keep all informed.

Bobby, Neil, and Charles lunch

After a short training ride while Neil and his dear wife, Kathy, were in Charleston, we all dine togeather. Kathy takes the picture while we enjoy the coolness of the day. When we began our ride it was in the low 30's, when we finished and sat down for lunch it was a comfy 68.

Charles is on back row, third from right, Missee is on front row, first on left, Queen Alice next to Missee. Picture taken in Columbia, State House in backround. Annual Columbia Cyclers 100 mile ride.
The ride began with temps in the mid 30's. The high got up to 43. Needless to share, Charles Fox DID NOT ride 100 miles in that cold and freezing condition.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Friends,

Can you share a penny a mile, please?

Beginning March 31, I will ride over 3,000 miles from California to Florida. I am seeking the support of 1,000 donors to give $36 each to reach our goal of $36,000 to support a cause close to my heart — The Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy (CCC). Funds will go to an endowment.

When a family is in need or a community in distress, the call for support often reaches CCC. This is exactly what occurred at Fox Music House during the Holiday Season when a devoted member of our staff died in a single vehicle crash on I-26.

When anyone in our community is in need, CCC is there for us, and we want to be there for them now in their time of need. A penny a mile is all that I ask; or you can support at one of the levels below to help me reach my goal of raising $36,000 for this cause.

All monies raised will go directly into an endowment fund to support the efforts of CCC for many years to come, allowing them to continue to help the people of Charleston.

Missee and I have called on Rob Dewey and his fine staff at CCC before. They have always responded quickly and offered sensitive fellowship and support. Please help me support them to ensure that they will always be around to respond to situations where they are needed

With deep and sincere appreciation,

Charles and Missee Fox
